Hyundai’s best selling the i10 car has been awarded ‘Best Buy’ city car for cars under £9000 at the What Car? 2013 awards
Hyundai’s best selling the i10 car has been awarded ‘Best Buy’ city car for cars under £9000 at the What Car? 2013 awards. Chas Hallett, Editor-in-chief at What Car?, said “buyers at this end of the market want value for money above all else, and that's something that the Hyundai i10 provides in spades. Despite the bargain price, the i10 is actually one of the sweetest-driving city cars there is. It has an impressive balance of ride comfort and cornering ability, which makes it feel very grown-up compared with most rivals. The i10 is also impressively practical for a city car, with decent space for four adults, great access to the cabin and a reasonable boot that can be extended by folding the rear seats.”
The Hyundai i10 starts at £6995 and is available on monthly payments through Hyundai’s PCP for just £99 per month, so anyone could be driving this nippy little city car at such a low price. The i10 is capable of 0-62mph in just 12.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 102mph so it is great around town and can keep up on the motorway. The Hyundai i10 has always been one of Hyundai’s top selling models, last year Hyundai brought out the sub 100g/km Blue model. This special eco edition of the Hyundai i10 emits an astonishingly low 99g/km CO2, so it gains exemption from VED and the London Congestion Charge. So this ‘Best Buy’ city car is not only cheap to buy it is very cheap to run.
What Car? have referred to the space inside the Hyundai i10 and they are right, there is plenty of room inside to sit four adults in comfort and plenty of space in the boot for luggage or the weekly shop. Safety equipment is very generous with front and side airbags as standard and an advanced anti-lock braking system and the 1.2-litre cars can also be specified with ESP stability control. There is also Hyundai’s Five Year Triple Car Assurance, a package that offers five-year unlimited warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five years of vehicle health checks. The Hyundai i10 was the manufacturer’s best-selling model in 2012 with sales in excess of 23,000. Hyundai is extremely proud of the i10’s achievements, Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO, Hyundai Motor UK, said “we are delighted that the i10 has been recognised by What Car? in what is an extremely competitive market segment. The i10 is a hugely important car for us and continues the sell well on the strength of its value, ride comfort and the way it is built for purpose.”
