Hyundai has been ranked one of the worlds greenest brands. In a new global report by Interbrand Hyundai ranked 11th among the agency’s 50 Best Global Green Brands. Hyundai placed fourth among the seven automotive brands that made the survey.
Hyundai’s Blue Drive sub-brand, launched in 2008, encompasses all of the company’s eco-friendly technologies and products that contribute to higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions, including gasoline, diesel, electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel-cell engines.
Hyundai plans to bring plug-in hybrid vehicles to market soon, while the company is currently operating test fleets of its hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles and pure-electric vehicles called BlueOn.
The Hyundai i10 continues to be a top seller for Hyundai. The i10 is attractively priced, well equipped and nippy around town. Back in March demand for the new Hyundai ix35 placed supply under intense pressure and resulted in huge waiting lists for the 2.0 litre diesel derivative in particular. Hyundai offered the longest waiting customers a Hyundai ix35 1.7 litre diesel model to use until their Hyundai ix35 2.0 litre diesel arrived.
