Jaguar Launch New Model
Spectacular Event To Unveil the New E-Pace
Jaguar are on quite the roll at the moment as in the space of a few years they’ve launched the striking, sporty F-Type, the F-Pace but now they’re cementing themselves in that area with a compact performance SUV, the all-new E-Pace.
Launched to journalists, VIPs and their brand ambassadors, the E-Pace was unleashed in spectacular style at London’s Excel arena. Not ones to do launches in a quiet fashion, the Jaguar F-Pace completed the largest loop-the-loop by a car when it was unveiled. You know when stunt driver Terry Grant is spotted that they’ve attempted something amazing.
In The History Books
In fact, the Jaguar E-Pace went straight into the Guinness World Record Books too with the furthest barrel roll for a production vehicle. Obviously do not attempt in the new E-Pace if purchased...
Legendary designer Ian Callum has waved his magic design wand over another Jaguar model which has the looks of the F-Type and F-Pace, mixed in with the now iconic grille and plenty of sporty, sweeping lines.
Director of Design at Jaguar, Ian Callum said, “ Established Jaguar design principles ensure the E-Pace is immediately recognisable as the sports car of its class. Our new compact SUV combines the interior space, connectivity and security that families expect with the kind of proportions, purity of design and performance not usually associated with such a practical vehicle.”
Practicality and Performance
In terms of size the Jaguar E-Pace will seat five but has proportions much smaller than the F-Pace, still keeping that practical element so many people look for nowadays but with plenty of sportiness thrown in.
Alan Volkaerts, Vehicle Line Director for the model said, “The latest addition to our growing PACE family provides comfort, interior space and leading stowage solutions allied to engaging handling and Jaguar Land Rover’s latest Ingenium petrol and diesel engines.”
It will certainly be no slouch as the 300PS Ingenium petrol turbo engine will get the E-Pace from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds, Jaguar are definitely setting the ante when it comes to performance SUVs.
With an impressive, sophisticated, yet simple cabin it has a very premium feel to it, a 10-inch touchscreen dominating the centre dash while it was interesting to hear from Callum that camera lenses were behind the inspiration for the temperature controls. You’ll never run out of charge with smartphones or tablets as there are five USB connections, four 12-volt charging points and 4G Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices so you can stay connected to the world.
As a first on a Jaguar model, the E-Pace will feature their Active Driveline all-wheel drive system which will offer enormous amounts of traction under any driving conditions, the system’s torque-biasing capability will offer excellent handling as well as reducing fuel consumption.
A Colour Palette To Suit All Tastes
There will be 11 colours available for the E-Pace including Fuji White, Borasco Grey, Firenze Red, Caesium Blue and Yulong White.
A First Edition is available with either a 180PS Ingenium diesel or a 249PS Ingenium petrol engine and the choice of the Caldera Red paint colour, (which is only available on this version).
Priced from £28,500 Jaguar definitely have another hit on their hands with the E-Pace, Ian Callum described it at the launch event as the new ‘cub’ of the Jaguar family, the puddle lights even beam a cub following its mother. The Jaguar family continues to grow and the E-Pace is another superb model joining a successful lineup.
