Jenson Button has sensationally won the Bahrain Grand Prix after a spirited performance in sweltering conditions. Toyota's Jarno Trulli led at the start followed by his team mate and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel. Button started fourth for Brawn GP but charged to third by the end of lap one.
Button said, 'the first lap was so important as I knew Vettel was going long - but I made it work and I was up to third by the end of that lap'.
Toyota remained first and second until the initial pit stops. Button's remarkable pace and excellent strategy then earned him the lead. Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel finished second, Toyota faded to third and seventh, and McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was fourth.
Jenson Button is now dominating the world championship. The Englishman has won three out of four races and scored thirty-one points. His closest rival Rubens Barrichello has nineteen. Brawn GP lead the constructor's championship with fifty points. The Formula 1 fraternity now heads to Spain.
