John Lennon’s first car a Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Coupe will go under the hammer
John Lennon’s first car a Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Coupe will go under the hammer on February 5th in Paris under consignment to Bonham’s.
John Lennon’s biographer Philip Norman described how car dealers descended on the Fab Four singer’s home following news that he passed his test and offered him a ‘gleaming smorgasbord’ of luxury cars. He was offered Maseratis, Aston Martins and Jaguars but Lennon’s choice was the Ferrari. He paid £2000 for the car back in 1965, it is thought that the car will sell somewhere around the £140,000 mark. The light-blue 1965 Ferrari 330 GT was immaculately restored to its original condition in the mid 90s.
