Record sales for the month of May
Kia have passed the half a million sales milestone and also celebrate record sales for the month of May. Paul Philpott, President and CEO, Kia Motors (UK) Limited said “reaching 500,000 cars in the UK is another important milestone for the Kia brand. Our growth over the last few years has been down to a combination of great new products, changing perception. We predict that we will achieve one million registrations in the UK before the end of the decade and our long-term ambition is to become a ‘Top 5’ volume car brand in the UK. Considering that our year-to-date sales equal our entire annual performance from just five years ago I am confident we will get there.”
The top three best-selling Kias in the UK so far in 2013 are the Kia Sportage, Picanto and the cee’d so it’s not surprising that the 500,000th Kia sold in the UK was a cee’d ‘4’ 1.6 CRDi hatchback which was purchased by Dale and Amy Pollard from Kia’s Sandicliffe Leicester dealership. Commenting on their choice, Dale said “it was important for me to have the same class, features and luxury that I was used to on my previous car, a Volkswagen Golf. At another manufacturer you could buy a similar car to a cee’d but you’d have to add on £10,000 to get the same equipment which Kia provides as standard.”
Kia cee’d standard specification
There is no doubt that specification on the Kia cee’d is extremely generous Standard with the Kia cee’d ‘1’ is air conditioning , Bluetooth® with Voice Recognition & Music Streaming , USB & AUX Ports, front fog lights, projection headlights, front electric windows with auto up and down function, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, centre console armrest and storage box, electronic stability control (ESC) and vehicle stability management (VSM) plus emergency stop signalling.
Priced from £13,500 the new cee’d has a muscular looking shape; it sports the Kia trademark tiger nose grille and has a sport compact design. Exterior features include chrome side glazing surround and wraparound headlamp clusters, body coloured bumpers and mirrors with tinted glass windows for ultra sleek aesthetics. The interior has a driver oriented dashboard with the steering wheel mounted controls. Interior materials are of a high quality and black leather seats are available on the ‘4’ and ‘4’ tech models together with adjustable drivers memory seat and heating steering wheel which completes the luxury on these models. There are numerous savings across the cee’d range until the end of June and there is also the added reassurance of the 7-Year Kia Warranty which is simply the ‘longest and best’ warranty available on any car.
