If you are ready to buy a new tow car this year then look no further than the Land Rover Discovery 4 which has just been voted first choice by caravan enthusiasts in a survey carried out by The Camping and Carvanning Club’s insurance division Club Care Insurance. This popular towing 4x4 is priced from £38,825.
The survey revealed that caravan owners looking to replace their current vehicle would choose the Land Rover Discovery as their new vehicle. Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director, said “we are delighted to receive this award as it is directly voted for by consumers. The Discovery 4 is packed with clever technology to make the life of a caravanner safer and easier. This accolade is a strong independent testament to the versatility and capability of Land Rover products.” Nigel Coppen, Client Director at Club Care Insurance, said “in addition to the strength and solidity of Land Rover vehicles and the fact they offer caravanners a good vantage point on their travels, there’s nothing like the unparalleled four-wheel drive ability for getting your caravan off its pitch, whatever the weather.”
Land Rover is already a popular and award-winning brand with the towing community. It has been honoured with the Camping and Caravanning Club’s ‘Best Towcar’ award in the ‘Over 1,900kg’ category for the past three years, last year’s honour was given to the LandRover Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 XS. The Discovery boasts supreme comfort and the towing capability is effortless, apart from the towing you can off road in the Highlands or take in the scenery visiting the Cotswolds whatever you are planning the Discovery is the perfect stylish 4x4 vehicle to be in. If you are towing the Discovery features so much intelligent technology that creates a safe and comfortable towing experience; Trailer Stability Assist (Standard) automatically detects the presence of a trailer and once 37 mph is reached, the sensors monitor the behaviour of the trailer. Should any swaying or oscillation occur the system uses selective braking of the appropriate wheels to help correct any potential problem. Towing Assist is also included which is a next-generation reversing aid with the optional Surround Camera System. The Towing Assist technology predicts the trajectory of both vehicle and trailer guiding when coupling a trailer and providing a predicted path for the vehicle when reversing by superimposing coloured lines over the image on the touch-screen. This is a fantastic aid for anyone who has tried to park when towing anything from a trailer to a caravan and even a horsebox as it is not an easy task.
