Mercedes-Benz continue successful sales
1,000 AMG registrations this year to date
Mercedes-Benz UK has recorded a 14.2% rise in sales for the month of April following a record first quarter to the year. There have been one thousand AMG registrations so far this year which is the first time such a figure has been achieved so early in the year.
The Mercedes C-Class Coupé, SLK-Class, CLS-Class and S-Class are all models that have been leading the sales in their respective market segments in April. The C63 AMG Coupé and 63 AMG Saloon continues to lead the registrations figures for AMG and the new E 63 AMG recorded the biggest gain, posting a 460 per cent rise. So it really is good news right across the range.
Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO Mercedes-Benz UK said “we’ve had a great 2013 so far, our best ever results for the first quarter and these figures for April prove that both our UK Passenger Car and Commercial Vehicle operations continue to thrive through innovation, relevant products and great customer support by our Retailer network. This growth is led by AMG, which continues to be the fastest-growing performance brand in the UK. This month saw the very first examples of the new CLA-Class being registered, this is just one of a number of exciting and inspiring new products in new market segments set to arrive this year as we continue to grow and offer our customers greater choice, quality and value than ever before.”
New ‘A’ Class achieves high figures
The new A-Class also achieved its highest market share figures yet since deliveries began in January, securing 7.3 per cent of its segment in April with a total of 1,344 registrations. The Mercedes A Class is a sporty city car and hatchback rolled into one. It is available in a three and a five door version and is deceptively spacious with a luxurious interior as only a Mercedes could be. It is the third generation of the hugely successful compact front drive Mercedes Benz with prices starting from £18,970 rising to £28,800. It also features as standard a radar-based collision warning system with adaptive Brake Assist, which lowers the risk of rear-end collisions. The COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST system gives a visual and acoustic warning to alert a possibly distracted driver to identified obstacles, and prepares Brake Assist for the most precise braking response possible. This is initiated as soon as the driver steps firmly on the brake pedal. The ‘A’ class is definitely an all round performer and sales figures prove that it is a success.
