Mercedes Benz recall is 'precautionary'
Mercedes Benz has recalled all C and E class Mercedes made between June last year and February this year
Mercedes-Benz has recalled all C and E class Mercedes made between June last year and February this year. In total 22,355 vehicles are to be recalled.
The recall is due to a problem related to a small bolt in the power steering pump which if loose could result in sluggish or heavy steering. Mercedes Benz UK spokesman Rob Halloway said the vehicle recall was “precautionary” he explained ''we are checking every single car and writing to all affected owners inviting them to bring their vehicles in to their local dealer. This is purely a precautionary matter and we are not aware of any incidents or accidents as a result of the problem.'' He also added that any repair work would take no longer than thirty minutes.
Mercedes Benz has estimated that only one percent of the total number of cars recalled might be affected.
