Update.... sixteen rugby players can squeeze their considerable bulk into the Chevrolet Aveo. That is far more than eleven, the previous best. The new record was set by Hove RFC at Frosts Chevrolet in Shoreham by Sea. Why? Because the rugby team that shoehorns most players into an Aveo wins new kit and Chevrolet goodies. The rules of the competition state that the players must be completely within the car, and that its doors and tailgate must shut. No hanging from the sunroof with a rugby ball, then. Provisional results are available via a Facebook league table - and the winners will be confirmed late in 2012.Robert Robinson, Marketing Manager at Frosts Chevrolet in Shoreham by Sea, said: “It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. I honestly didn’t know if they could beat the current record (of eleven), but they smashed it. We’ve really enjoyed the association with Hove RFC - both the club and Frosts are celebrating their sixtieth anniversaries this year.” The Chevrolet Aveo has strengths beyond swallowing rugby players. For starters, it feels extremely composed on the road, looks sharp, and comes with a five-year warranty. Just as well, if you plan to fill it with sixteen beefy blokes. The new Aveo is also surprisingly quiet thanks to its extra thick glass, stiff construction, and special floor mats that absorb high-frequency noise transfer. Does that conceal the rugby players' screams? This run- around is also available with a range of fuel efficient and punchy engines, and has plenty of gadgets as standard. But, and this is the big issue, can a rugby ball fit in the glove box?
