Grand C4 Picasso to be launched January 2014
The new Citroen C4 Picasso has been named ‘Continental Irish Car of the Year 2014’ by the Irish Motoring Writers Association (IMWA). The latest generation C4 Picasso also picked up the Irish Compact Family Car of the Year award at the annual awards in Dublin.
Votes are awarded on the basis of key criteria including safety, equipment level, fuel economy, comfort, practicality, ride and road holding. The Picasso beat off competition from the VW Golf and the Mazda6.

The Citroën C4 Picasso has four key strengths in the MPV segment: strong and expressive styling, a light and spacious loft-inspired interior, a range of new technologies for well-being and a line-up of highly efficient engines. It introduces the new PSA Peugeot Citroën Group EMP2 platform, which delivers a weight reduction of up to 140kg compared to the previous generation models. It is also the first vehicle to feature new BlueHDi engine technology that complies with the Euro 6 standard through its Selective Catalytic Reduction system the only technology to sharply reduce NOx emissions (by 90%) while also cutting CO2 emissions. Since launch, the Citroën C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso have attracted a total of approximately 43,000 orders. The Picasso features a bold and striking design plus five star EuroNCAP safety rating together with high levels of equipment that include a 7” touch screen specified as standard.
The new Grand C4 Picasso has been designed with the modern family in mind, the sleeker, more dynamic next-generation version will which in the UK in January 2014 and offers sophisticated styling with ground-breaking proportions. Carrying up to seven people across three rows of seats, the model also offers the widest boot in the class. Thanks to a new lighter platform, improved aerodynamics and optimised engines, the New Grand C4 Picasso is able to deliver class-leading CO2 emissions from just 98g/km and 74.3mpg combined cycle fuel economy, There is also ‘360° vision’, an exclusive feature in the segment, that gives the driver a bird’s eye view of the area around the car through the integrated 12” HD screen on the dashboard. To make parking even easier customers can also benefit from ‘Park Assist’, which provides automatic assistance when manoeuvring into a tight parking space, whether parallel parking or reversing straight back. There is even the option of a motorised front passenger footrest and massaging front-seats as luxurious technological touches.
