Renault have announced a limited edition Renaultsport 200 Clio Gordini
Renault have announced a limited edition Renaultsport 200 Clio Gordini, named after the legendary driver Amedee Gordini who competed in F1 from 1950 to 1956. Gordini worked on engine tuninig with Renault in the Sixties, who eventually bought his Gordini company. In 2009 Renault announced that they would be reviving the Gordini brand and the Clio is the first to get the treatment. Prices at £19650, the new model features a Malta Blue metallic finish, twin racing stripes on the bonnet, roof and tailgate, white door mirrors and F1 style splitter on the front grille. Alloys are 17 inch multi spoke with polished chrome finish and black inners. There are 200 horses as standard, and the specification matches the price tag. As well as climate control, curtain airbags, automatic headlight and wiper activation, you get cruise control, ESC, 4x20W radio-CD with Bluetooth hands free system with fingertip remote control and multifunctional TunePoint with USB connection, heated and electrically folding door mirrors, double optic headlamps with additional cornering lights, Renault hands free card, height and reach adjustable steering column and dark-tinted rear windows. The car can be specified with either standard sport chassis, or hard core ‘Cup’chassis. Three colours can be specified, Malta Blue, the original Gordini classic colour, or black with white stripes or the reverse, white with anthracite. Only 500 Renaultsport Clio Gordini’s will be built for the UK market, and each car has a numbered plate with a unique identifier.
