New Ford Ka Studio 1.2 Only £79 Per Month On Finance

The Ford Ka Studio 1.2 is better value than half price Champagne.

The Ford Ka Studio 1.2 is better value than half price Champagne. So – much like a bottle of bubbly – it leaves a nice taste in the mouth. As such this three-door city car can be bought outright for £8,725 or via a Personal Contract Plan. Terms for the latter include the £2,061.28 deposit which is followed by one payment of £89 (including the £10 Finance Facility Fee), and twenty-three monthly instalments of 79. You could pay that for a nasty bottle of plonk. At the end of the term there are three options. One, pay the £4,525 Optional Final Payment to own the vehicle. This totals £8,502.28 including £517.28 interest and the £10 Purchase Fee. Option two is to return it. There should be nothing else to pay assuming it is in fair condition and has not exceeded the 9,000 mile annual allowance. Excesses are charged at 7.2 pence per-mile. Option three is to purchase it - as per option one - then part exchange via a further Personal Contract Plan. If the Ka is worth more than its Final Payment - perhaps because it has low mileage or a boot full of Champagne – the difference contributes toward the newer vehicle's deposit.

The Ford Ka Studio 1.2 has strengths beyond value for money. As such, it seats four people in comfort and has a 224-litre boot. Cargo capacity is therefore larger than many of its rivals so there is plenty of room for Champagne. Posh booze lovers – who never drink and drive, of course – also benefit from the Ka's sure-footed handling. As such it corners with confidence, has precise steering, smooth transmission, and a comfortable ride. This complements the 69PS petrol engine that propels motorists to 62mph in 13.4 seconds. Performance is therefore modest but it feels nippy in town. That, of course, is this car's natural environment but a little more power might be handy on faster roads. The 1.2-litre Ka also averages 57.7mpg, returns 64.2mpg on the extra-urban cycle, and hits 48.7mpg in town. Solid figures considering it is the entry-level, petrol powered, trim.

Ford Ka Studio 1.2 Specification

The Ford Ka Studio 1.2 has a simple specification compared to most new cars. Highlights include: power steering, an immobiliser, air-bags, and the CD player. These complement super-stylish looks. But that is about it - excluding cost extras such as parking sensors and metallic paint. Whereas this specification might frustrate some people, others love it. Why? Because thousands of motorists have no time for the “confusing” gadgets which are screwed to most new cars. These, they argue, are simply “complicated things to go wrong”. There is some truth here. After all operating such cars can be harder than brewing high-quality Champagne in a bucket, and even fixing an electric window motor can be pricer than decent wine in a fancy restaurant. So … this entry-level vehicle suits those who want a low cost car with sharp handling, excellent build quality, and an easy to understand dashboard. And anyway … gadget lovers can buy the top-end Ka Titanium.
