New Generation Hyundai i10 named ‘Car of the Year 2014’

Also named ‘Best City Car’

The new Generation Hyundai i10 is a winner all round as it has picked up the Car of the Year 2014 award plus also being named Best City Car by car review website CarBuyer.

Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief, Auto Express and CarBuyer, said “the Hyundai i10 is small in stature and huge in talent. It offers so much for such a small price with real big car attributes, it’s well built, spacious and with loads of luxury kit on board. It makes you wonder why you ever need to pay more for a new car.”

Tony Whitehorn, President and CEO, Hyundai Motor UK, says: “We are tremendously proud that the New Generation Hyundai i10 has been crowned CarBuyer’s ‘Car of the Year’ for 2014. This is Hyundai’s second major CarBuyer win after the i30 received the same accolade in 2012. This award is a true testament to just how far the Hyundai brand has come in recent years.”

The new Hyundai i10 is not on sale in the UK until the end of this month. The judges praised the car for its quality, refinement, style and value. The car will offer customers the highest levels of comfort and safety equipment, with many features more common to segments above. Available equipment offered includes automatic climate control, heated leather steering wheel and cruise control with speed limiter provide bigger-car comfort, plus safety features that include standard-fitment stability control and six airbags.

5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty

As with all Hyundai’s passenger cars, the New Generation i10 includes the brand’s industry leading 5 Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty, which offers amongst the best warranty cover in the industry as judged by Auto Express. This includes five years unlimited mileage warranty, five years free roadside assistance and five years of annual vehicle health checks, which gives customers ultimate peace of mind.

The Hyundai i10 has always been one of Hyundai’s top selling models, especially the sub 100g/km Blue model. This special eco edition of the Hyundai i10 emits an astonishingly low 99g/km CO2, so it gains exemption from VED and the London Congestion Charge. The i10 is capable of 0-62mph in just 12.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 102mph so it is great around town and can keep up on the motorway.
