It would take until old age to tell you everything 'good' about the new Honda Civic.
It would take until old age to tell you everything 'good' about the new Honda Civic. As such, let us only consider one element – the surprisingly interesting boot. Standard capacity – with a car full of people - is a monstrous 401-litres. In contrast, the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra, and Volkswagen Golf Hatchbacks have 316-litres, 351-litres, and 350- litres respectively. The new Civic even has under floor storage, making 477-litres overall. Here comes another boot-related party piece. The rear seats - specifically the part we rest our rears on - lifts upwards. This creates storage behind the front seats and in front of the boot. Furthermore, the rear seats lie very flat to create a class-competitive 1,210-litre area. Now, I promised only to speak about the boot but we should consider safety too. The new Honda Civic excelled during tests performed by Euro NCAP, the independent vehicle assessors. In fact, this small family car earned the maximum five-star overall rating making it one of the safest in its class. Very reassuring. The five-star rating breaks down to scores of 94% for adult occupant protection, 83% for child occupants, and 69% for pedestrians. This mile-muncher also earned 86% for the safety assist category, which includes features such as the Civic's electronic stability programme. Time to stop writing nice things about this car now, otherwise I will have to dedicate the next sixty years to this family workhorse.
