New Honda CR-V arrives October

Priced from £22,800

There is now an increasing demand for low cost motoring and two wheel diesel SUV’s are top of the list in popularity which means the new Honda CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC is going to be a huge success. Prices for this British build SUV have just been released and the new variant starts at just £22,800.

There are savings all round if you choose to pick this new SUV, it is powered by the 1.6 i-DTEC engine which returns an impressive 62.8mpg which means it has the potential to cover up to eight hundred miles on one tank of fuel. Co2 emissions are only 119g/km which means the CR-V qualifies for zero road tax in the first year and will only cost £30 annually thereafter.

There are three trim levels offered which are all generously equipped. The entry level ‘S’ is priced from £22,800 and features DAB Radio, dual zone climate control air conditioning, cruise control, electric adjustable and heated door mirrors, USB connectivity, steering wheel remote audio controls, 5-inch Intelligent Multi Info Display (i-MID), 17” alloy wheels as well as all the driver safety aids such as ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), driver seat power lumber support and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA). There is also the option of paying an additional £765 for the T grade and adding SD Navigation system and Bluetooth Hands Free.

If you step up to ‘SE’ trim then Bluetooth hands free is included but you need to step up again to T grade if you are looking for the SD satellite navigation system. Additional standard equipment on the SE in includes front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera, Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone (HFT), CAT 1 alarm with ultrasonic sensor, leather steering wheel, leather gear shift, rain sensing auto wipers, dusk sensing auto lights and auto dim rear view mirror.

The SR trim tops off the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC range at £26,880 with standard goodies including, Alcantara/leather upholstery, heated front seats, premium audio with subwoofer, painted roof rails, privacy glass, Bi-HID xenon headlights with auto levelling, active cornering lights, High Beam Support System (HSS), headlight washers, front fog lights, driver and passenger seat power lumber support and 18" alloy wheels.

Two wheel drive only

The CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC is available in two-wheel drive only and features a six-speed manual gearbox with an exact capacity of 1597cc. It offers a maximum power output of 120 PS at 4,000rpm while maximum torque is 300 Nm at 2,000 rpm. This new CR-V weighs less than the 2.2 i-DTEC model which ensures better fuel economy and agile handling. Five million Honda CR-V’s have been sold across the world since its launch in 1995. This new addition will no doubt continue the success of this fantastic model.
