New Mini 3-Door, 5-Door & Convertible Launch March 2018 in Uk
New MINI Hatch & Convertible revised styling, optimised interior and new equipment for March 2018
The New, 2018, MINI 3-Door Hatch, 5-Door Hatch and Convertible launch with a range of new features on March 17th in The United Kingdom. Enhancements over their predecessors include fresher styling. There is, therefore, a new badge to reflect a new “brand identity” and represent its values such as having “fun”, MINI said.
MINI has expanded its exterior colour range, too. Now choose:
Emerald Grey Metallic
Starlight Blue Metallic
Solaris Orange Metallic
The Piano Black Exterior Pack – an optional extra – complements these, and other, exterior colours. It adds black, high gloss, colouring to the headlamp surrounds and front grille instead of chrome. The rear lights receive the same treatment. In addition, pick from a revised range of wheels including the twin-tone option.
The New, 2018, MINI 3-Door Hatch, 5-Door Hatch and Convertible incorporate a range of new leather trim, interior surfaces, and colours. "Add a touch of individual style", the manufacturer suggested. Malt brown leather trim might find favour, for instance.
The MINI Yours Interior in Piano Black is an optional extra. It adds a dark, high gloss, finish to the centre console and interior of the doors. It complements the backlit, union jack, themed stripes that sit immediately forward of the front passenger. The backlit colour matches any driver selected, ambient, mood lighting.
Navigation Plus is a new optional extra. It adds a large, 8.8-inch, screen that replaces the standard, smaller, screen plus connected services. Highlights include: map updates, real-time traffic information, news, weather and fuel price information. The package also adds a wireless phone charger to a storage box in the armrest.
The manufacturer has optimised its engines to “increase driving fun”, it explained. The MINI One, for example, now has a larger, 1.5-litre, engine that produces 190Nm of torque (10Nm more than its predecessor). Further improvements throughout the range relate to the: turbo charging, electronics, oil supply, cooling, and exhaust.
The 2018 MINI 3-Door Hatch, 5-Door Hatch, and Convertible have other features that elevate them above their predecessors. Highlights include:
New, LED, lights that optimise the styling, improve visibility and minimise the risk of dazzling other motorists (standard)
- New, matrix, headlamps that automatically switch from main beam to standard as oncoming vehicles approach (optional)
- New, 7-speed, dual clutch automatic gearbox that operates via a new lever or paddles behind the steering wheel (optional)
- New, 3-spoke, steering wheel that has buttons to control the speed limiter, stereo and communication equipment (standard)
