Time to party... the MINI Clubvan is to be launched this autumn. This has to be the coolest, most fashionable, best looking van in the history of mankind. Just look at the styling for confirmation. Have you ever seen a sharper looking load-lugger? But there is more to the Clubvan than striking looks and a swanky badge. Cargo capacity is a pleasing 860-litres, and its maximum payload capacity is a fairly hefty 500kg. That ensures it can carry plenty of food to our party. Also, load length is a respectable 115cm and - even at the narrowest point behind the rear doors - the width is a useful 102cm. Great, we can pack party hats too. This capacity complements its flat floor, see-through bulkhead, and rear privacy glass. The MINI Clubvan has other strengths to entice party lovers. For starters, it is available in three tantalising specifications: One, Cooper, and Cooper D. These produce 98hp, 122hp, and 112hp respectively. My favourite is the D as it averages 72.4mpg and has low emissions, so its running costs are lower than a plummeting stock market. Furthermore, all engines are teamed with six-speed manual transmission as standard, with an auto gearbox listed as an option. That brings us to the subject of money. Prices start at £11,175 for the One, £12,475 for the Cooper, and £13,600 for the Cooper D – all plus VAT. Some businesses claim this tax back, of course - so they should buy booze for our party. Cheers!
