New MINI Roadster Psychic?
Alarmingly... the MINI Roadster claims to be psychic.
Alarmingly... the MINI Roadster claims to be psychic. Want proof? The website says 'I've been expecting you', for starters, then presents its 'reading'. Later is asks your name and reveals its meaning. In my case, 'Stephen' means 'crown'. Oh well, better than 'hat'. At the same time the website places visitors behind the steering wheel and drives them through a dark scary road. The spooky background music raises the pulse too. However, I suspect this is more clever marketing than the vehicle's psychic ability. MINI, after all, wants to create a sense of excitement about the first two-seater roadster in its history. And why not?The MINI Roadster is based on the peculiar looking Coupé, and powered by various four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Outputs range from 122bhp to 211bhp, and these power plants average between 38.7mpg and 62.8mpg. Not too bad. These figures complement the MINI's rock-solid handling, stylish looks, and surprisingly spacious 240- litre boot. Furthermore, the semi-automatic fabric roof completes its manoeuvres in a fairly speedy eight seconds, and can be operated at up to 20mph. The cabin feels excellent too, with familiar MINI characteristics such as the large speedometer. But is it really psychic? I reckon we should ask for next week's lottery numbers to find out. Prices start at a spooky £18,020.
