Fleet News 2014 Accolade
The new Peugeot 208 has been awarded ‘Best Small Car 2014’ at the Fleet News 2014 awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The 208 was launched in 2012 and this popular car beat off other challenging competitors in this highly important sector where the combination of value, specification, performance and operating costs can make all the difference.
Stephen Briers, Fleet News Editor, stated: “Peugeot has made massive in-roads into fleet with the 208 thanks to its highly efficient petrol and diesel engines and competitive running costs. Quality is excellent throughout and residual values have held up well since launch thanks to a strong fleet policy. The 208 is very stylish and has broad appeal for many types of driver.” Martin Gurney, Director Peugeot Fleet & Used Vehicles, said “the 208 is one-of-those-cars that hits the spot on so many levels and its appeal is reflected in this important Fleet News 2014 Best Small Car accolade. 208 gives our customers wide choice and leading performance with acceleration, economy and CO2, but of even greater importance is its style and modernity, the easy-to-use interior controls and its high quality, stylish design.”
There are now over sixty thousand Peugeot 208’s on UK roads with prices starting from £9,995 for the 1.0-litre VTi, which is capable of 65.7mpg and has CO2 as low as 99g/km. Recently the Peugeot 308 was awarded the top automotive accolade of European Car of the Year 2014, this stunning new car boasts style, quality, efficiency and outstanding dynamics. The family hatchback is available in four trim levels, Access (from £14,495), Active (from £17,195), Allure (from £18,645) and Feline (from £20,995). All the models will be available with five petrol and HDi diesel engines and all of these engines offer class-leading fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The highlight for environmentally aware drivers is the 1.6-litre HDi 92, which has CO2 emissions of just 93g/km
It is also worth remembering Peugeot’s ‘Just Add Fuel’ package which covers all major motoring expenses, including 3 years’ road fund licence, comprehensive insurance, road tax, warranty, roadside assistance cover and vehicle servicing, in convenient fixed monthly instalments. It remains popular with customers, especially in major city areas which allows motorists from the age of twenty-one to get into a brand new car in an ‘inflation proof’ three year package.
