Priced from £14,495
The new Peugeot 308 is now on sale, the stunning new car boasts style, quality, efficiency and outstanding dynamics and it has already been shortlisted for the European Car of the Year 2014 award.
The family hatchback is available in four trim levels, Access (from £14,495), Active (from £17,195), Allure (from £18,645) and Feline (from £20,995). All the models will be available with five petrol and HDi diesel engines and all of these engines offer class-leading fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The highlight for environmentally aware drivers will be the 1.6-litre HDi 92, which has CO2 emissions of just 93g/km this means less time spent filling up on forecourts, while the CO2 classifications means low VED road tax bandings. The New 308 is also an exceptional car to drive thanks to its advanced steering and damping technology.
Another desirable feature is the premium ‘i-Cockpit’ interior. Driver-focused like nothing else in the segment, and with a notably uncluttered dashboard, it offers one of the most technically advanced touch-screen infotainment systems on any new car. With a large 9.7-inch screen size, this intuitive interface allows the user to control everything from the climate control to the audio system. Another plus is the practicality of the 308 which boasts a 420 litre boot space when the rear seats are in the upright position and there are also generous sized cup holders and storage spaces located around the cabin. The new Peugeot 308 also benefits from innovative driving assistance systems such as active cruise control, collision risk alert, automatic emergency braking, keyless entry and starting, blind spot sensors, reversing camera with parking guidance and Peugeot Connect SOS (emergency call) and Peugeot Connect Assistance services.
Maximum score in Euro NCAP tests
The 308 has also been awarded the maximum score of five stars in the Euro NCAP tests with individual scores of five stars in all four categories which include adult protection, pedestrian protection, child protection and safety assist. The tests carried out by the independent Euro NCAP were done using the new tighter protocol for allocating results.
Peugeot M.D. Tim Zimmerman said “the New 308 is a significant leap forward for Peugeot. It’s high on style and quality and provides a truly rewarding driving experience, all at a value-for-money price. We’re confident it will be a big hit with UK customers.” The Peugeot 308 is on sale today.
