Renault announce their newest and biggest car in the lineup will be revealed in Beijing
The Koleos has seen a fair amount of sales-success as a big 4x4 on the Chinese marketplace and we’re now being told that the large SUV will be heading to UK dealerships too.
Placing itself at the top of the Renault range, the Koleos will be more expensive than the Captur and Kadjar which are currently on sale but it will also offer a lot more in return. Renault claim the Koleos will feature ‘unparalleled four-wheel drive capability.’ This is certainly a bold claim as there are some 4x4s on the market with incredibly clever four wheel drive systems, so we’re excited to see what Renault have come up with.
Elsewhere you can expect an extremely supple level of ride comfort and an upmarket, refined interior with high quality materials. There will also be 289mm of knee room in the rear seats which is plenty.
You can expect to see the R-Link2 tablet in the Koleos when it comes out. This is the intuitive in-car entertainment you’ll find in a number of high-spec models from the Renault range, including the Captur and Kadjar. It operates like a tablet you’d have in your home, you can order functions by favourites, what you frequently use, and so on.
Best of all, the R-Link 2 offers 3D TomTom mapping so you can visualise points of interests and buildings - making navigation a breeze and 12 Months of TomTom traffic is also provided free of charge.
On the exterior the Koleos is a much more rugged looking vehicle than it’s younger siblings, the Kadjar and Captur. There are aggressive lines through the bonnet and muscular shoulders sticking out over the rear wheels.
The car will be on display at the Beijing International Autoshow for all to see. The show opened to press from the 25th and runs up until the 4th of May for the general public with a huge variety of commercial and consumer vehicles being flaunted.
