The new Seat Leon will will have deliveries starting in March. This new model will be a welcome boost to the market as it boasts a co2 rating of just 99g/km making it exempt from the annual vehicle excise duty plus the impressive 74.3mpg means there will be fewer trips to the fuel station.
The exterior of the Seat Leon has been brought up to date with full LED headlamps which is a first in the family hatchback class and a 380 litre boot which is approximately forty litres more than its predecessor, there is also increased legroom due to the wheelbase being slightly longer which really does make a difference. Every Leon will have a colour touchscreen which incorporates radio controls, Bluetooth connectivity plus a driver drowsiness detection function and an automatic lane keeping assistant. The interior has a clear light and uncluttered look with an unconventional and elegant dashboard with a two tone design that makes it appear to float in mid-air, again this upgrade brings the Seat Leon up to date.
Every new Seat Leon is equipped with start/stop technology for greater efficiency; there will be a wide range of petrol and diesel engines offered to suit every taste and budget. This new Seat Leon is the most advanced car that Seat has ever produced and a landmark for the Spanish company. The all-new model is the result of an overall investment of eight hundred million euros and Dr. Andreas Tostmann, Seat Executive Vice President for Production, said “with the new Leon we have increased productivity by 10% and become more flexible, thus guaranteeing optimisation of production costs. The eight hundred million Euros investment in the new Leon consolidates our leadership position as Spain’s number one industrial investor in R&D. The Leon, together with the Ibiza, represents the very essence of Seat. It is a vehicle that projects strength, exuding precision and quality.”
This third generation Seat Leon is stunning; it has been completely redesigned from the ground up and is packed with full high end technology. James Muir, President of SEAT S.A. said “with the all-new Leon, we have designed and developed a car which perfectly captures the meaning of ‘Enjoyneering’. This compelling mix of design, technology, athletic performance and premium quality is certain to seduce existing customers, as well as bringing a new generation of car-buyers to the brand.”
