The new Skoda Octavia Scout is now on sale priced from £25,315, the new model features advanced 4x4 technology based on fifth generation Haldex-5 clutch transmission.
Both the front and rear of the new Scout feature powerful black bumpers with silver-coloured off-road attachments. The front features a wide air intake and sharply-embossed fog lights. The door sills and wheel arches are also in black panelling, in addition to the black protective side mouldings. The ground clearance has increased by 33 millimetres compared to the standard Octavia and Skoda have fitted 17-inch alloy wheels as series standard. The interior features a 3-spoke multi-function leather steering wheel and attractive features, designed especially for the Scout.
Two engines and transmissions are available, the 2.0 TDI 150PS with a six-speed manual gearbox and a 2.0 TDI 184PS featuring a six-speed DSG as standard. The former returns 55.4mpg on the combined cycle and has CO2 emissions of 129g/km and the range-topping model returns 55.4mpg and has CO2 emissions of 134g/km. The Octavia is 20 percent cleaner and more fuel-efficient than the previous model, delivering significant running-cost savings for owners.
The Octavia Scout boasts a distinctive off road look, innovative drive, plus best driving performance even on rough roads and high versatility on and off the road. Dr. Frank Welsch, Skoda Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development said “our new model is a scout in the best sense and offers customers a unique package, comprising a striking off-road look, impressive all-wheel characteristics, plenty of space and modern safety, comfort and engine technologies. The new Octavia Scout sets new standards in the crossover-vehicle segment.” In addition to its off-road ability, the new Octavia Scout offers all the acclaimed safety and comfort features of the standard model. All models are available with up to nine airbags and Crew Protection Assistant for vehicle safety in crash situations and Driver fatigue sensor. A number of electronic comfort systems are available as options. These include Intelligent Light Assistant and Park Assist, the Scout can also be supplied with a new rear-view parking camera.
Based on the Octavia Estate, the Scout has been an integral part of the Octavia range since its introduction in 2007. Between 2007 and the end of 2013, Skoda delivered around 53,600 Octavia Scouts to customers worldwide. This represents almost eight percent of all Octavia Estates delivered during this period.
