New updated Honda CR-Z Hybrid on sale now

Honda has given the Honda CR-Z Hybrid a little facelift together with some other updates

Honda has given the Honda CR-Z Hybrid a little facelift together with some other updates which has provided this Hybrid coupe with some more power. The CR-Z’s 1.5-litre petrol engine has been updated with changes to the variable valve timing system and Engine Control Unit, the addition of a new lithium-ion battery has boosted the combined power output from 122bhp to 135bhp. The great news is the average fuel economy remains unchanged at 56.5mph and co2 emissions have fallen to 116g/km. The other new addition is a Plus Sport (S+) boost system, this provides extra assistance from the electric motor for a period of up to ten seconds, when the accelerator is pressed the electric boost begins and a flashing gauge on the dashboard indicates when the system is active. This new system (S+) can be used in ECON, Normal or Sport modes.

The exterior of this sporty looking hybrid boasts a new front bumper design that frames a revised grille which is complemented at the rear by a new aerodynamic diffuser design. There are new paint choices too; energetic yellow and Aurora Violet and the striking 17 inch alloys complete the new look.

The new Honda CR-Z Hybrid is on sale now and priced from approximately £18,200. There are not many Hybrid sports cars priced affordably and with generous specification. Three trim levels are offered starting with the S and moving up to the Sport and the GT. The basic level gets features such as heated mirrors, daytime running lights, climate control, Honda’s Vehicle Stability Assist technology and six airbags. At the very top of the range, there is a hands free telephone kit, a panoramic glass roof, xenon headlights, heated seats and full leather trim. The new updates include new interior colours and improved storage bins.

Honda is known for safety and reliability and the Honda CR-Z is the latest in a series of Honda cars to receive top marks in the independent crash testing results from Euro NCAP. The Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Honda Jazz and the Honda Insight have all received five stars so safety is consistent across the range. So if it is a Hybrid you are looking for, the new Honda CR-Z with improved performance and better fuel economy plus refreshed styling could just be the car you are looking for and it is still priced less than twenty thousand pounds.
