The new Vauxhall Insignia range is now on sale, first customer deliveries will be in October. The new range introduces four new engines which include a 99g/km 140PS 2.0 CDTi, a new 1.6 SIDI 170PS Turbo plus a new 250PS 2.0 SIDI Turbo. The new 2.0 CDTi engine offers drivers ultra-low CO2 emissions of 99g/km and returns an impressive 76.3mpg. The new diesel engines offer great benefits for company car drivers as the ecoFLEX Hatch version emit just 99g/km co2. Improvements have been made to the cars ride and handling due to revised damper and anti-roll bar settings and reprogramming of the electronic power steering. The new range is priced from £16,279 and there is a choice of a five door hatch, a four door saloon and a sports tourer estate. The Insignia’s range has also been simplified; there are now only eight trims instead of fourteen that range from Design to Elite. There are also two trims; Energy and Limited Edition which package generous equipment levelsThe exterior of the Insignia has undergone subtle changes including a wider and lower high gloss chrome grille and redesigned headlamps. The rear of the car is certainly wider and lower and the high gloss chrome logo bar is now lower on the tailgate. The biggest changes are inside the car, anyone who already owns an Insignia will see the difference as the centre console and instrument cluster has been completely redesigned, it now boasts a fresh up to date look. There is the option of an 8-inch screen infotainment display and a new upgraded instrument cluster with an 8-inch, high-resolution colour display. Standard equipment on all new models is impressive and includes DMB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity, USB connection and aux-in socket, CD/MP3 player & stereo radio, LED daytime running lights, Leather covered steering wheel and Cruise control and trip computer. Seating is more than comfortable as included as standard is electric four-way lumbar adjustment on driver’s seat and electric height adjustment on the driver’s seat.
