All-electric Volkswagen city car
If an electric city car is on your Christmas shopping list then the Volkswagen e-up! is now available from just £199 per month through Volkswagen Finance e-solutions personal contract plan. The car is priced at £19,250 (on the road RRP including £5,000 Government grant or £24,250 without), and is available to order now from one of 24 Volkswagen EV specialist retailers across the UK, with the first deliveries expected at the end of January.
The finance package offered by Volkswagen is like no other as it gives you the option to hand the car back if an electric car doesn't suit your lifestyle, this is subject to terms and conditions and as long as twelve monthly payments have been made. The £199 payment is based on a thirty-six month, 10,000 mile a year plan and there is the option of choosing a deposit of between £2,425 and £7,125, on top of the £5,000 government grant, which also forms part of the vehicle deposit.
The e-up! has all the attributes that makes its petrol-powered sibling such a success plus room for four adults and their entire luggage. You can enjoy nippy handling and this great city car can achieve 0-62 mph in 12.4 seconds and can go on to a top speed of 81mph. The battery can be charged to 80% full in under thirty minutes at any standard 230-Volt socket, or via a DC fast-charging station. Customers will also be offered an optional wall box for home garage use from British Gas, free of cost. This provides a 3.6 kW supply and can recharge a completely flat battery in six hours. On top of this, all e-up!s the DC fast-charging circuit comes as standard. Cables are provided to connect to both a standard UK three-pin socket and a CCS socket.
Based on the multi-award-winning up! city car, the e-up! comes in one high-specification trim level. With zero tailpipe emissions, a range of up to 93 miles in optimum conditions, and a standard full charge taking less than nine hours from a standard 230-Volt, 2.3 kW household socket, the five-door e-up! is as practical as it is environmentally friendly. The interior of the e-up features light-grey seat covers with blue top stitched seams. Special leather and chrome accents have been used to convey a puristic impression that matches the vehicle concept of a full-fledged urban electric car. It is the ideal car for daily use in the city, or commuters or as a second car and standard equipment in this car matches that of a much larger car.
