New Volvo V40 range boasts ‘low-emission luxury’

The Volvo V40 has recently been strengthened by the arrival of the new R-Design and three Cross Country variants

The Volvo V40 has recently been strengthened by the arrival of the new R-Design and three Cross Country variants. Nick Connor, Managing Director of Volvo Car UK, said "for years now, Volvo has offered the solution for drivers who want a premium vehicle experience with low emissions and low running costs, but who don't want to sacrifice equipment, styling or safety features Put simply, the V40 delivers unprecedented choice in the premium hatchback sector without compromise for the customer. Our customers can enjoy low fuel and tax benefits thanks to sub-100g/km CO2 emissions, yet still have the luxury of SE Lux spec if they want to plus they get to choose from the V40, V40 R-Design or V40 Cross Country bodystyles."

The all new Volvo V40 was launched in July; this luxury hatchback is available in ES, SE and SE LUX trim with Bluetooth fitted as standard across the range. Starting at approximately £19,745 on the road, the all-new Volvo V40 entered the premium hatchback segment with a class-leading set of innovative high-tech features. The V40 is also the safest car in its class too, having achieved the highest score ever recorded by EuroNCAP in recent crash tests, thanks in part to pioneering technologies such as the world's first pedestrian airbag and Volvo's autonomous braking system City Safety, which also now qualifies for reduced insurance premiums.

The new Volvo R-Design is available across the Volvo S60 and Volvo V60 range. Customers can choose from a total of four petrol and two diesel units all benefiting from the sportier looks of the Volvo R-Design. The R-Design boasts unique five-spoke 18-inch Diamond cut wheels which emphasise the sporty overall appeal. The interior has special leather/textile upholstery trimmed in off-black and ceramic light or in an all-black variant, both with contrasting stitching. The interior also features an R-Design steering wheel, gear selector, sports pedals and floor-mats.

The V40 Cross Country is Volvo's answer to those customers that want a small five door hatchback but with a more 'off-road' and rugged look. As standard, the Cross Country SE is offered with autofolding door mirrors with ground lights and black mirror covers, 16" alloy wheels, rain sensor, textile/T-Tec upholstery, tread plates and silver roof rails. The all new Volvo V40 Cross Country starts from £22,595; the T5 Geartronic Cross Country Lux Nav with All-Wheel Drive is priced from £33,875.
