The Nissan Cube finally goes on sale here in January. The Nissan Cube has been around for well over a decade in Japan, a lot of people wanted the Nissan Cube imported to the UK now if has finally arrived. The Nissan Cube has an unusually large wheelbase as a proportion of its overall length which bodes well for handling stability. The car measures 3980mm from nose to tail which is similar to a supermini but 2,530mm of that is accounted for by the wheelbase. This means that the overhangs at the front and rear of the Cube are tiny and should produce a miniscule turning circle further easing parking headaches. The standard engine is a 1.6 litre petrol manual although there maybe a 1.5 litre dCi available. At the rear, the door is side hinged; design of the interior is described as ‘casual lounge’ by Nissan with the sofa-style rear bench arranged in a ‘jacuzzi curve’. Space is generous and there is a numerous range of storage options, cup holders, detachable hooks, shelves and multi coloured rubber bands that secure items on the door arm rests. The standard Nissan Cube not only introduces iconic asymmetric design to your driveway, but also includes a glass roof, rear privacy glass and Bluetooth and cruise control. Spend a little more and you can upgrade to Kaizen trim. This adds the Nissan Connect audio and navigation system, a rear parking camera and full climate control to the standard equipment list. There first hundred sold will be limited ‘LDN’ editions with suede interiors climate control and auto lights and wipers. Prices start at £14,000 on the road.
