The Nissan Qashqai was the marque's best selling vehicle of September 2011. To be precise, 6,068 of these capable crossovers were ordered in the United Kingdom. The Juke was the runner-up with 4,475 sales – and the Nissan Micra took the bronze medal with 3,540. In total, Nissan registered 18,573 passenger vehicles last month – representing an impressive 17.8% increase compared to the same period last year. This made them the fifth best selling manufacturer with a retail market share of 6.9%. The market fell by 0.8% compared to last September, so Nissan is bucking the downwards trend.Nissan GB’s Managing Director, Jim Wright, said: “There’s no doubt that the market is tough out there at the moment. But Nissan is making cars that people want to buy and there is still demand out there for good product.” Nissan expects demand for the Qashqai, Juke, and Micra to expand further as it introduces more fuel efficient versions over the next few months. This is fantastic news, as during tough economic times motorists need machines with sensible running costs. As of now, the most fuel efficient Qashqai averages 57.6mpg and the Juke returns up to 55.4mpg. The Micra is even kinder to your wallet, so it averages up to 68.9mpg. Excellent.
