Record sales for Skoda
New Octavia and Superb push up sales figures
Skoda have a new record, the brand has just recorded its strongest ever September sales figures with 10,380 registrations for the new registration month. The September sales performance marks a 38.8% increase over the brand’s 2012 figures and put Škoda UK in a strong position to eclipse its overall 2012 sales.
Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for Škoda UK said “these sales figures prove that Škoda is continuing to go from strength to strength in the UK. Our range has expanded with innovative and interesting new cars and the appeal of our products continues to grow as we enter new segments. Our retailers are working very hard to deliver great service as the brand grows. We have some fantastic new products in the pipeline that we can’t wait to get into UK showrooms.”
There is no doubt the new Skoda Octavia and the recently face lifted Skoda Superb have pushed up the sales figures. Škoda retailers enjoyed strong demand across the range during September, with the Fabia and the new Octavia leading the sales charge. Order books for the new Skoda Octavia vRS were also at full capacity in September following its highly successful launch at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The new Skoda Octavia was recently voted ‘Best Large Car’ it’s a fabulous family car and extremely spacious inside boasting generous luggage space of approximately 590 litres so it is great for luggage when on those touring holidays and comfortable on long journeys for passengers. The new Skoda Octavia has also been awarded five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests it has some fantastic active safety systems which are normally only available on higher cross vehicles. The all new Skoda Octavia has also just been voted ‘Tow Car of the Year 2013’, most motorists who look for a towing car look at the towing capacity, the Skoda Octavia secured its spot in the up to 1424kg weight category. The Skoda Superb was voted the ‘UK’s Best Car’ and the ‘most loved’ by the owners. The car was rated best in class especially for rear passenger comfort, but the highest praise was for the huge boot, it is easy to load and unload because of its TwinDoor rear hatch, which can open either as a saloon-style boot or full tailgate.
The Skoda Fabia has been in huge demand and if it is something smaller you are looking for then look no further! The Skoda Fabia is a smart spacious supermini with substantial rear knee and head room. The boot capacity is also impressive with 300 litres with the seats in place increasing to 1163 litres when folded and even better still the 1.2 litre model returns approximately 49mpg on the combined cycle which is something many small diesels would be proud of.
