The Renault Kangoo Van Z.E. has picked up another accolade the VansA2Z.com Ecovan of the Year. It is the third major prize in quick succession for Renault’s groundbreaking LCV, the first 100% electric commercial vehicle produced directly by a mass market manufacturer, after being named International Van of the Year 2012 and What Van? Magazine’s Van of the Year.
The Renault Kangoo ZE (the ZE for Zero Emissions) has a 59bhp electric motor mounted in the Kangoos’ nose and the lithium-ion battery pack lives under the rear floor. The size of your load will have an effect on the nominal 100 mile range which will obviously reduce as weight is added. The Renault Kangoo ZE is the type of van that is used for relatively short delivery trips carrying light loads so potentially the range should not be a problem.
Renault’s Kangoo Van Z.E. range was recently confirmed eligible for the Government’s new Plug-in Van Grant which brings the line-up’s already tempting starting price down to £13,592 excluding VAT.
