Renault Zoe celebrates 1st Birthday

‘Best Electric Vehicle of 2013’

The Renault ZOE blew out its first candle at the Chateau de Versailles, Renaults partner location. Following the partnership agreement signed by Renault and the Château de Versailles last year almost twenty three electric cars that include ten Twizy, ten Kangoo ZE, and three  ZOE are used by employees, security guards for Versailles and Marly, gardeners and administration. Thirty charging stations have been installed in the grounds. This partnership protects the environment of the gardens, and contributes to the comfort and safety of the twelve million annual visitors.

Renault received a huge and enthusiastic response when it invited owners to come and talk about their car and their experience with ZOE. Many believe that simply test driving an electric car is enough to make anybody want one, 98% of ZOE owners are satisfied and 97% would recommend it. Alongside driving pleasure, customers appreciate the comfort offered by ZOE: no noise, no vibrations and smooth acceleration and no gear shift.

Renault is a pioneer and leader on the electric vehicle market in Europe, with market share of over 40% and already over ten thousand  ZOE vehicles sold to date. With many other manufacturers now starting to build electric cars, Renault already has a full line-up of electric vehicles and remains well ahead of the field.

The ZOE is available in three trim levels; Expression, Dynamique Zen and Dynamique Intens.  This fantastic supermini is the first vehicle to be equipped with ‘Range OptimiZEr’ which combines three major innovations, bi-modal regenerative braking, a heat pump and MICHELIN EnergyTM E-V tyres.  Due to this the ZOE has the longest range of any electric vehicle in its class, with the MICHELIN tyres, in the NEDC cycle the ZOE is capable of a range of one hundred and thirty miles. But in real conditions and in suburban use, the owner will generally achieve around sixty miles in cold weather and ninety miles in temperate conditions.

Standard equipment on the ZOE Expression is extremely generous including 15-inch Aerobase wheel trims on Michelin ENERGY E-V tyres, R-Link voice controlled TomTom satellite navigation with 7” touchscreen, 4x20W radio, USB input, jack, SD multimedia and Bluetooth®, ‘Range OptimiZEr’ – bi-modal braking system, heat pump and Michelin Energy E-V tyres, Chameleon charger allowing recharge time of 30 mins to 9 hours, Econometer, battery gauge and integrated mileage counter, Eco mode: reduces power delivery and reprogrammes heating and air conditioning systems to maximise range, Z.E. Connect – remote monitoring of battery charge and range, Z.E. (hot/cold) pre-conditioning of interior temperature (when vehicle on charge), Z.E. Voice – low speed pedestrian warning, Climate Control, Cruise Control, LED DRLs, ESC, ASR Traction control and Understeer control, Hill Start Assist, Renault keycard, ISOFIX mountings on front passenger seat and outer rear seats, TFT instrument display, Height and reach adjustable steering wheel, Privacy glass to rear side and tailgate windows, R.A.I.D. (Renault Anti-Intruder Device) auto door locking over 5 mph and a Speed Limiter.
