SEAT extend the successful ‘Copa' range
SEAT is building on the success of the Copa editions of the Leon hatchback by extending the great value trim level to the Altea and Altea XL range
SEAT is building on the success of the Copa editions of the Leon hatchback by extending the great value trim level to the Altea and Altea XL range. There will be two trim levels available the S Copa and the SE Copa which are based on the standard S and SE specifications.
So what do you get? Well the S Copa brings 16” ‘Elio’ alloy wheels, Bluetooth communication package which includes hands-free phone connection, steering wheel mounted controls and two additional stereo speakers plus dual zone climate control, front fog lights with cornering function, cruise control and passenger seat height adjustment and this is all in addition to the standard S specification. All this extra equipment amounts to £1500 and it comes at no extra cost.
SEAT UK Product Manager James Buckell said “the Copa editions of the Altea and Altea XL really are no-brainers for the customer. After all, who doesn’t like to get something for nothing? But we haven’t just added lots of equipment to the cars for the sake of it. Instead, we’ve listened to what our buyers really want and only added equipment that’s of real use and value. It’s for that same reason that we’ve simplified the range, giving customers a clear choice, with great value and low running costs assured on every model.”
The SE Copa has all the specification of the SE trim and gets the SEAT Media System 2.2 which incorporates satellite navigation and an SD card reader, plus a DAB digital radio tuner and Bluetooth hands free phone operation, audio streaming and a multi function drivers display controlled via a five inch colour touch screen. It is a very impressive package priced at approximately £1100 but again at no extra cost, also thrown in is rear parking sensors, automatic windscreen wipers and lights and an auto dimming rear view mirror. SEAT’s Product manager is right all the extra equipment is most definitely of real use and value.
If you are looking for a hatchback but you need a little extra head space then the Altea could be the car for you, the interior is extremely spacious offering five roomy seats rather than seven cramped ones. Inside the SEAT Altea there are more than thirty places to stow and stash goodies, including a super-sized glove compartment, big storage bins on all four doors, drawers under the front seat and even a storage area under the boot floor. The SEAT Altea XL moves on a bit further boasting a 409 litre boot which is perfect for big families needing a lot of space. Both the new Altea Copa editions can be ordered now and will be in SEAT showrooms shortly.
