Seat Ibiza goes on sale in China
Seat Ibiza hits the world’s largest car market
Seat’s bestselling car the Seat Ibiza is now on sale in China, the Alhambra will follow later this year and the Seat Leon at the beginning of 2014.
The Ibiza is one of the most successful models of its segment in Europe and has sold approximately 4.8 million since it went into production back in 1984, it is the most exported car in Spanish history and extremely popular in Germany, Italy and France. Last year nearly eighteen thousand models were sold in the UK and the model is consistently Seat’s bestselling car in the UK.
There are three versions of the Seat Ibiza; the sport three doors SC, the practical Ibiza ST estate and the universal five door Ibiza; they will be offered in two trims; Style and FR. Last year the Seat Ibiza was updated and now boasts a more modern look with reshaped headlights and a smaller front grille, the rear of the car has redesigned tail lights with the rear bumpers given sharper lines tracing the rear ‘diffuser’ section. The interior of the Seat Ibiza offers a wide choice of colours and materials and includes a new design of the Climatronic climate control system and a much larger glove compartment offering a lot more space. Every Seat Ibiza can be adapted to suit personal style and individual preferences with an extensive range of colours, options and accessories.
New Seat Leon at Auto Shanghai
At the start of beginning of next year Seat will also market the new Leon in China, the new Leon is available to order now in the UK with first deliveries arriving in March. The third generation Leon is stunning it has been completely redesigned from the ground up and is packed with full high end technology. James Muir, President of SEAT S.A. said “with the all-new Leon, we have designed and developed a car which perfectly captures the meaning of ‘Enjoyneering’. This compelling mix of design, technology, athletic performance and premium quality is certain to seduce existing customers, as well as bringing a new generation of car-buyers to the brand.” The new Leon is actually the star of the Seat stand at Auto Shanghai 2013. During Seat’s presentation at Auto Shanghai, Dr. Mathias Rabe, Seat Executive Vice-President for R&D, introduced the new Leon SC to the press, underscoring the fact that the car “is not only an excellent vehicle in terms of technology, but is also a design icon. The Leon has all the ingredients to be a success in China”.
Seat is celebrating the first anniversary of the beginning of sales in China at Auto Shanghai. During this time, the Spanish brand has marketed almost three thousand vehicles, all of them the second-generation Leon, and already has twelve dealerships in some of the country’s major cities, after opening four points of sale in the second half of 2012. Seat is most definitely a company on the rise their market presence is developing rapidly and the future looks very exciting for this Spanish manufacturer.
