Skoda celebrates fifth ‘record breaking’ year
Octavia was most popular car in Skoda range
Skoda ended 2014 on a high, recording its fifth consecutive year of record numbers of new car registrations. Every model in the Skoda range has played its part in the success. The Skoda Octavia was the most popular car in the range, with a total 21,320 cars sold, closely followed by the Fabia, which even in its run-out year accounted for 16,177 sales. 12,191 of these were hatches and 3,986 Estates.
The third-most popular Skoda model was the Yeti, which had a record year, with 13,081 sold.
Skoda is now one of the UK’s fastest growing brands and there is no doubt another record year is ahead.
The new Fabia is due to launch anytime now and the new Fabia Estate will arrive in March. The redeveloped model sets new standards in space, practicality, connectivity and eco-friendliness. The new Skoda Fabia Estate offers plenty of space for up to five passengers and their luggage, while the boot has the largest capacity in its segment at 530 litres.
In addition, the third-generation model is more practical than ever, with up to seventeen Simply Clever solutions, ten of which are on offer in the Estate for the first time. September will see the arrival of the new Skoda Superb. This model has been voted the UK’s Best Car and the ‘most loved’. The new model takes the Skoda Superb to the higher end of the automotive mid-class segment.
The third generation model is expected to generate even more consumer interest in both the brand and model. The new Skoda Superb will make its world premiere in Prague in the middle of February 2015, followed by its introduction at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The market launch is planned for mid-2015 for Europe, and autumn for the UK, so watch this space!
