Skoda Superb is voted ‘most loved’ car by owners

JD Power satisfaction survey for UK motorists

The JD Power satisfaction survey is a very influential report in UK motoring, it is judged by thousands of car owners who live with their vehicles day to day. Skoda UK has received a huge amount of praise, owners appreciating the friendly manner and responsiveness of the staff. The Skoda Superb was voted the ‘UK’s Best Car’ and the ‘most loved’ and the Skoda Yeti was hot at its heels in second place.

Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for Skoda UK said “JD Power is all about customer satisfaction and for the Superb and Yeti to take the top two positions is fantastic. It’s testament to Skoda’s innovative thinking, quality of the cars, and the outstanding service offered by our dealers.”

The Skoda Superb was rated best in class especially for rear passenger comfort, but the highest praise was for the huge boot, it is easy to load and unload because of its TwinDoor rear hatch, which can open either as a saloon-style boot or full tailgate. The Superb offers the choice of six engines; a 1.6-litre diesel and two 2.0-litre diesels, 1.4- and 1.8-litre turbocharged petrols and a 3.6-litre V6 petrol that drives all four wheels through a twin-clutch, semi-auto gearbox. All Superbs have an iPod-compatible CD player, electric windows and door mirrors, alloy wheels and some form of air-conditioning. SE spec adds parking sensors, cruise control and a 6-CD touch-screen stereo, to which SE Plus adds touch-screen sat-nav and Bluetooth The range-topping Elegance cars have a tyre-pressure monitoring system, rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, leather upholstery and electric seats.

Skoda Yeti is the ‘Best Compact SUV’

The Skoda Yeti was voted ‘Best Compact SUV and Yeti owners reported a pleasurable driving experience, with a fantastic suspension that disguises all bumps and potholes. The car’s handling was rated best in class, and owners raved about the slick gearshift while enjoying rapid acceleration and a satisfying purr from the engine.

The popular small SUV scooped two awards at the beginning of the year from the off roader magazine Total 4x4. This is the third year running the Yeti has received top honours. In 2011 the Yeti won the ‘Crossover’ category and took the ‘4x4 of the Year’ title and then in 2012 it came top in the same category and received ‘Special Award for Best Value’.
