The Amarok is Back in Black and Better than Ever
Introducing two new special edition Volkswagen Amarok models...
The Volkswagen Amarok must be one of the best pick-ups on the market right now, with its pleasing appearance, impressive towing capabilities and functional cabin. Volkswagen has decided to release not one, but two special edition models to top the range. Meet the Black Edition and the Aventura Black Edition.
So, what’s it all about?
Well, as you can probably guess, there’s been plenty of black added to the Amarok. The styling bar, rear bumpers, sidebars, fog lights, grille trim, headliner and dashboard insert have all been murdered out to give the Amarok a stealthy new personality.
Just a lick of paint?
No, much more. The Black Edition and Aventura Black Edition models are based on the previously top-spec Highline edition and they are the most powerful and most luxurious Amaroks that Volkswagen has ever produced. On top of the Highline trim, these special editions get blacked out 20” Talca alloys, the Lights & Vision accessory pack as well as the Discover Media integration which offers detailed European maps as well as off-roading information and technology.
On top of the Black Edition model, sits the Aventura Black Edition, which adds exclusive Nappa leather, ‘Ergo Comfort’ front seats with electrical adjustments, a leather multi-function steering wheel with paddles, electric folding mirrors and a front underbody guard. Quite a lot of kit, we’re sure you’ll agree…
Both models are powered by a 3.0 litre TDI diesel engine arranged in a V6 format. This engine is exclusively mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and it can be spec’d with two outputs, either 204 PS or 258 PS.
The Amarok is already a class-leading vehicle among the pick-ups on sale today, with a maximum towing weight of 3.1 tonnes and a maximum payload capacity of 1,147 kilograms.
The Amarok has the biggest loading width of any pick up in its class. There is a whole 1,222mm to play with means the Amarok can carry Euro pallets with ease.
All models come with always-on all-wheel-drive too and heavy-duty tyres to ensure the big Volkswagen can plough around off-road just as comfortably on road. There is even a self-locking Torsen differential which provides a 40:60 front-to-rear power distribution which is optimum for both tarmac and turf.
These new Black models are both on sale as of right now, with prices starting from £34,835 for the Black Edition and £40,995 for the Aventura Black Edition - both of these prices exclude VAT. Volkswagen is also offering Matt Paintwork with a 25% discount, meaning it can be selected as an upgrade for £2,420.
To explore the best deals available right now on these special edition Amaroks, we’d recommend getting behind the wheel and taking a test drive, just to convince the boss that this is a car capable of handling whatever is thrown at it while looking rather fancy doing so.
