The Audi A1 debuts in 2010
The 2010 Audi A1 should be in the showrooms September 2010.
The 2010 Audi A1 should be in the showrooms September 2010. This car is Audis challenger to the Mini and the Audi A1 will be available in three and five door versions. It will initially only be available as a three-door, with the range starting at around £13,000. An Audi spokesperson said the best selling Mini in the range is the Mini Cooper and this is where the A1 will be aiming both barrels. Both 2010 Audi A1 models should offer a choice of 6-speed transmissions: A regular manual and optional Audi S-Tronic, a computer-operated sequential manual transmission that can be set to shift like an automatic. The 2010 Audi A1 will be no stripped-down minicar. It is thought that all the standard features will be included that are expected of premium brands, such as antilock brakes, curtain side airbags, full power assists, and a decent stereo. The AWD version should add spiffs like antiskid/traction control, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, larger wheels and tyres and no doubt sportier suspension. Audi realises the maintenance package BMW has been offering on its cars is highly attractive to buyers and so want to introduce a similar scheme themselves on the Audi A1. Expect a three-year servicing package to cost around £500.
