Preview of the best upcoming car releases for 2009
In support of AM Magazine's buy a car campaign which highlights that there has never been a better time to buy a car, and is trying to bring about a change in the attitude of the national media on the state of the car industry. Motoring.co.uk is highlighting the top 10 new car releases for 2009.
ALFA ROMEO Mi.To
The Mi.To is a sexy sporty compact 3-door which will compete with the Mini and Audi A1. The 1.4 MPI will produce just 138g/km of CO2 and will cost from £10,795
AUDI R8 V10 5.2 FSI
The R8 V10 5.2 FSI will be packed with 525bhp with the 5.2L V10 plucked from the Gallardo LP560-4.
RENAULT Megane Coupe
The Megane Coupe is building on the sucess of the Renaultsport. Priced from just £14,745
FIAT 500 Convertible
The drop-top roof on the 500 will be similar in concept to that used by the classic Citroen 2CV. Expect the 500 Convertible to be extremely low in CO2 and have prices starting from just £9,100.
FORD Focus RS
Set for a March release date, the Focus RS will be equiped with four-wheel drive and produce over 300bhp.
The new MINI Convertible will be available in Cooper and Cooper S guises from March 2009, with prices starting from £15,995.
The performance version of the XF will be powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, and has a top speed of 225.675mph, making it the fastest Jaguar ever.
The Panamera is a 4-door luxury saloon, which will come with 3.6L V8 producing 300bhp.
The LF-A will be available from Sept 2009 and will delivery more than 400 bhp from a 5.0-litre V8 engine.
The iQ will produce just 99g/km of CO2 which makes the iQ Road Tax free in the UK. Toyota claims it is the worlds smallest 4-door car.
