Toyota launches a swap scheme

Toyota has announced a "swap scheme" as an alternative to the government scrappage scheme

Toyota has announced a ‘swap scheme’ as an alternative to the government scrappage scheme that is due to end in February.

Toyota’s swap scheme offers buyers with a car seven years old or more the chance to swap it for an automatic £2000 discount off a new Toyota; this means any car with a 52 plate can be swapped regardless of its value. Rules are similar to the government scrap scheme where the owner of the swapped car must have been for the last twelve months and the car must have a valid MOT. Toyota have also stressed that not all cars will be automatically binned.

Toyota still has numerous deals on offer and there is still time to take advantage of the government scrappage scheme. The Toyota IQ VVT-I three door is available on a credit crunching finance deal it is available from only £7443 which includes £2000 scrappage saving, the scrappage incentive applies to customers trading in a car registered on or before 31.08.99. This car has CO2 emissions of only 99g/km and has a maximum speed of 93mph and there is no road tax to pay.

If a bigger car is needed then the Toyota Prius is a great option. A Toyota Prius can be purchased for a monthly payment of £299 per month. The co2 emissions are so low that its company car tax rate is just 10% while the official average fuel economy is 72.4mpg.
