Vauxhall ADAM City Car hits 100,000 orders

New ADAM ROCKS AIR on sale next month

The fantastic urban city car the Vauxhall ADAM has now completed more than 100,000 European orders since it first went on sale just eighteen months ago.  The ADAM is similar in size to the Fiat 500 but considerably wider and not much shorter than the Mini it appeals to everyone from the new young female and male drivers and to the older generation.

The ADAM can be customised in over a million different ways; there is unlimited visual combinations, a wide variety of exterior colours and interior colours plus two different roof colours. Customers can even choose their headlining, including an LED-lit starlight roof trim.  An online configurator has been designed to help you make the best possible choices down to styling add-ons, accessories and interior finishes. Three trims are offered; the JAM which projects fashionable and colourful, GLAM which is sophisticated and elegant and SLAM if you want racy and sporty, most certainly something for everyone. The ADAM also boasts a technology highlight named ‘IntelliLink’ which is a infotainment system that connects to the owners smartphone,  content from the smartphone is then transferred onto the car’s seven-inch, high resolution, full colour touch-screen display.

A choice of three engines are offered but no diesel as yet, all engines are ecoFLEX available with optional start/stop technology and teamed to a five speed manual gearbox. Now  available across the ADAM range is Vauxhall’s all-new 1.0-litre ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo three-cylinder engine. This high-tech unit raises the bar for three-cylinder engine refinement and packs 115PS, with impressive low-end torque of 170Nm.

There is a new edition on the horizon as next month the ADAM ROCKS AIR will become the first urban mini three door crossover from Vauxhall. Debuting at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, ROCKS AIR has its own body style offering the same contemporary design as the original ADAM but with the toughness of a crossover and the coolness of a full-length folding canvas roof.

Tim Tozer, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director said “thanks to its striking design and over a million different spec combinations, ADAM has been a big hit with our customers and if that wasn’t enough, Vauxhall is adding the robust ROCKS AIR to the ADAM range featuring an all-new 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine.”
