Vauxhall Ampera wins another award
The Vauxhall Ampera has won the Green Car category at the 2012 British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards
The Vauxhall Ampera has won the Green Car category at the 2012 British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards. The British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards were established in 2004 to recognise those manufacturers who have produced the most secure cars, and to raise consumer awareness of what is best in vehicle security. The Vauxhall Ampera was recently awarded European Car of the Year and What Car? Green Car of the Year and Top Gear magazines Green Car of the Year.
The Vauxhall Ampera arrived in UK showrooms in May this year; the innovative Ampera has a real-world battery range of between 25-50 miles, after which a small range-extender motor intervenes to provide up to an additional 300-plus mile range. At all the times, the Ampera’s wheels are electrically driven, setting it apart from hybrid vehicles.
Pricing for the Vauxhall Ampera starts at £29,995 (including £5,000 government grant) for the Earth model. The car is available through a network of 24 specialist Vauxhall dealers.
