The Volkswagen Group has reported record sales figures for the first half of 2011. VW delivered a staggering 4.09 million vehicles worldwide, a mighty 14.1% increase compared to the equivalent period last year. Furthermore, June 2011 was a particularly successful month for Europe's largest automotive manufacturer. New Registrations reached a monstrous 719,400 – an 11.7% increase compared to the same month in 2010.Christian Klingler, Group Board Member for Sales, said: 'delivery figures for the first half of the year are very satisfactory. Our performance demonstrates the strength of our model range. We are also confident we can perform better than the global auto-mobile market during the second half of the year, thanks to our very convincing range of models'. The Volkswagen Group incorporates several major marques. VW themselves registered 2.5 million passenger vehicles in the first six months of 2011 – an 11.8% rise. Audi delivered 653,000 machines which is a 17.7% increase. Skoda sales rose by 20.1%, to an impressive 454,700. Seat sales were more modest, but still increased by 2.5% to 186,400. Volkswagen's commercial sales also expanded considerably. Registrations increased to 260,000 units, a 29% rise. Perhaps, one day, every motorists will own a VW.
