Volkswagen has launched a new initiative to make buying second-hand vehicles easier, less stressful, and more enjoyable. The Das WeltAuto scheme, which translates to The Word Car, aims to make the used experience closer resemble the new one. it is similar to other manufacturer's approved used schemes, albeit with some extra bells and whistles. Any passenger vehicle can potentially qualify for approved status, VW or otherwise. There are three key elements to the Das WeltAuto scheme. The first is guarantees and checks. Approved vehicles must have been comprehensively tested and reconditioned (if required). They must also have a full history check, and be supplied with a minimum twelve month warranty and thirty-day/1,000 mile 'no quibble' exchange promise. Element two is that customers can choose an extra such as free MOTs for the life of the car. The final part of the scheme is added extras. For every second-hand vehicle, VW dealers suggest potential enhancements such as alloy wheels, parking sensors, sat-nav, cruise control, Bluetooth, etc. This enables customers to personalise their vehicles in a style more familiar to new car buyers. It certainly makes life easier for those who find a fantastic car, that just so happens to be missing one important gadget. Excellent work VW.
