New Kia Soul unveiled at the New York Motor Show
New version of the iconic Kia Soul Urban Crossover
The new Kia Soul has been unveiled at the New York Motor Show; this new version has been inspired by the 2012 Track’ster concept car that was shown at the Chicago motor show last year. There are external similarities to the Track’ster such as the large trapezoidal lower air intake and the location of the fog lights, Kia’s signature grille is present but it has been reworked to resemble the concept. A longer and wider chassis allows for more passenger space and luggage room and there are premium touches such as LED front positioning lights and rear LED “halo” lights that bring the Soul up to date within the Kia line-up that share similar design cues such as the Sorento SUV.
The Kia Soul is a five door, five seat hatchback that offers the flexibility of a medium sized MPV or SUV within the footprint of a supermini. Three unique trim levels will be offered; Base, Plus and Exclaim and there will be a choice of seven exterior colours. The interior of the new Soul has hits new levels of sophistication there is plenty of soft touch materials found on the instrument panel, centre console and door panels. Depending on which version there is also leather seating with improved lateral and thigh support, plus high gloss piano black trim on the centre console and dash which gives the interior a very luxurious look.
