Audi R8 e-tron hits the red carpet
VIP screening of Iron Man 3 Movie in Leicester Square
The new Audi R8 e-tron joined all the VIP guests and stars of the new Iron Man 3 movie in London’s Leicester Square.
The prototype sports car is driven by Robert Downey Jr in the film which is due to be released in the cinemas from 25th April. The car was brought over from Germany for the occasion and displayed on a special plinth alongside the red carpet where it was joined by all the stars of the movie. The stars of the movie were chauffeured to the top of the red carpet by a fleet of Audi A8’s together with VIP guests including Labrinth, Estelle, Dermot O’Leary and Samantha Barks.
As well as showcasing Audi technology and sleek design with the Audi R8 e-tron, the Iron Man 3 movie also features the Audi S7 Sportback, driven by Paltrow's character Pepper Potts, CEO of Stark Industries and girlfriend of Tony Stark. The film also includes placement of the Audi A8 L, A6, S5 Coupé and Q5 models.
The Audi S7 Sportback is extremely distinctive it features a striking single frame grille highlighted by horizontal slats with high gloss black finish and chrome applications. It is also characterised by its main bodyline the ‘tornado line’. This line gives the S7 its stretched slim and sporty look. The sporty look is emphasised more by the stylish 19” five parallel spoke alloy wheels, these can be upgraded to 20” five parallel spoke star or 20” seven spoke in two tone titanium finish. Standard on the Audi S7 are LED daytime running lights that provide light during daytime and because of the innovative LED technology they consume less energy and have a much longer working life than standard dipped lights. Also standard are the Xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights and kerb lights.
Audi R8 e-tron supercar
The Audi R8 e-tron has been dubbed by Audi as “the future of electric mobility” it has already completed some amazing stunts before starring in the movie setting a world record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife the toughest test track in the world. The car is made primarily of aluminum and can accelerate from zero to 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 4.6 seconds with a top speed limit of 200 km/h (124.27 mph). A top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph) was approved for the record-setting lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
