BMW 3 series range to be expanded

BMW have achieved its best ever February sales result. Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Sales and Marketing BMW said “in February the BMW Group achieved another healthy increase in sales and we intend to continue the positive development with exciting new models throughout the year. With the new BMW 3 Series GT, which premiered this week at the Geneva Auto Salon, we are expanding our highly successful 3 Series range with an innovative new model for our customers.”

The BMW X1 has been in strong demand; over twenty three thousand were sold. The X1 range has just been expanded to include a new entry model and a petrol variant. The new petrol engine is the efficient 2.0 litre TwinPower turbo with TwinScroll Turbo technology; it emits just 162g/km co2 emissions and is capable of 0-62mpg in just 7.4 seconds. The BMW 3 series has also enjoyed an increase in sales, a new version went on sale at the beginning of the year, it offers a bigger choice of trim levels and is more spacious than its predecessor and more fuel efficient. Newpowertrains and additional EfficientDynamics fuel saving and emission reducing technologies have been introduced together with an eight speed automatic gearbox available across the 3 series range.

The BMW MINI brand recorded 18,527 cars delivered worldwide in February; the Mini Countryman had a massive increase in sales compared to the same period last year selling approximately 13,645. Exterior and interior modifications were made to the Countryman late last year; it is a fantastic SUV with outstanding fuel economy and is reasonably priced. The launch of the new Mini Paceman in later this month will no doubt bring further momentum to global sales for the brand.

Sporty new BMW Z4 on sale this month

The new BMW Z4 goes on sale this month; this popular sports car has undergone some impressive updates that include the overall performance of the car. The BMW Z4 sDrive20i comes with an 184hp engine that returns 41.5mpg with co2 emissions at approximately 159g/km. The sDrive 18i is new to the range and is capable of 0-62mph in just 7.9 seconds; this version returns an impressive 41.5mpg and records Co2 emissions of 159g/km.

Audi continue to increase market share and Mercedes Benz are now targeting a younger market which in previous years was never part of their strategy.”

BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi dominate the premium brand sector and it will be a continued battle between all brands which can only be good for the new car buying consumer.
