Dacia has revealed the UK pricing for its new Spring EV, coming in at just £14,995 - undercutting the petrol-powered Renault Clio.
Recently confirmed for launch in the UK, the Spring has undergone extensive visual and technical upgrades to maintain its strong sales record in Europe.
Until now, Dacia had kept quiet about the exact price, but with pre-orders now open ahead of the first deliveries in October, it's been confirmed that the Spring will be more than £10,000 cheaper than the BYD Dolphin and around £12,000 less than the entry-level Vauxhall Corsa Electric.
In fact, the Spring almost snags the title of the UK’s cheapest new car overall, with only the Fiat Panda, Kia Picanto, and Dacia’s Sandero coming in below £14,995.
That price is for the entry-level Expression model, boasting a 44bhp motor that reaches 0-62mph in 19 seconds. Standard features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen, USB port, cruise control, electric front windows, and rear parking sensors.
For £15,995, you can opt for the quicker 64bhp version, which clocks 0-62mph in 13.7 seconds and upgrades to larger 15-inch wheels. The 64bhp model is also available in the range-topping Extreme trim for an extra £1000, offering copper-style trim details, electric rear windows, a 10.0-inch touchscreen, and wireless smartphone mirroring.
All variants come with a 26.8kWh battery, delivering a range of up to 137 miles and capable of charging at up to 30kW in the more powerful version.
