We’re now into the second half of the F1 season, with the teams in Hungary for round 11 of the 2011 F1 season. The Hungaroring is a total length of 4.381km, and runs for a total of 70 laps making the race distance a total of 306.663km.

Mark Webber won last years race, with Fernando Alonso second and Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel finishing third.

Pirelli have chosen the prime (yellow) compound and super-soft (red) compound for this weekends race in Hungary, with the increased grip from these tyres suiting the the low speed corners the cars have to negotiate.

Lewis Hamilton was the fastest man on track in both first practice and second practice, recording a fastest time of 1:21.018 just 0.241 faster than Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso. Mark Webber suffered a broken front wing in first practice after striking a barrier part way round the circuit. Championship leader Sebastian Vettel could only manage fifth fastest in second practice, as Red Bull played around with their cars to try and find out how Ferrari and McLaren have matched their performance in the last two races.
